A new craft course started last week at Mansfield Woodhouse Library, but not just any old craft course – this course promises to teach you how to make your very own handmade gifts and presents. What could be better as we approach the festive season? Using houshold items that often get thrown away and a little bit of craft material, our tutor will show you how to make some beautiful gifts that friends and family will really appreciate.
Like the sound of it? Well, it’s not too late to join. Pop along to Mansfield Woodhouse Library at 12.30pm on Friday 1 October and you too could be turning old pegs into pretty fridge magnets, just like those pictured.
To avoid disappointment call Lindsey on 07760 337 893 or talk to staff at the library to book a place, or turn up on the day. The course is free to anyone on a means tested benefit. Normal fees of £2 per hour apply for those not on benefits.

Great news, months and months of attending CLG (Community Learning Group) meetings is beginning to pay off as contacts are not only being made but are now actually turning into courses.
As a direct result of the Sutton and Kirkby meeting last month, a new ‘Scrapbooking’ course is due to start at Community Centrepoint on Diamond Avenue in Kirkby at the end of May. A taster event will take place on Friday 21 May between 10.15am and 1.15pm, with a follow-on course planned to start the following week.
More details about this course will be posted soon…..

Carla can offer all sorts of craft-based taster sessions and longer courses on scrap-booking are planned for later in the year, but for me, this post is more about testing out my new flickr account and checking that I can at last add images to my posts. Yippee!
