As well as courses funded by ACLS the WEA also organise courses for voluntary branches in places like Oxton. This term in Oxton one of our tutors, David Hutchison, is running a course called ‘Revolution and reform’ which offers a chance to learn all about the huge changes that took place in Britain in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Topics will include:
- early factories
- the transport revolution
- the growth of population and towns
- workhouses and the first schools for all
- references to the local area
There are still places available on this course, so why not pop along to Oxton Village Hall, Main Street, Oxton Ng25 0SA on Thursday from 7.30pm-9pm to find out more. Or, call Lindsey on 07760 337 893 to book a place now.
