I wanna get digital. Let’s get into digital! Ok, so the original song was actually about getting physical, but what we’re talking about here is a chance to find out all about digital photography from the beginning.
If you’ve got a digital camera, but don’t feel like you getting the most out of it, or if you’re thinking of buying one but don’t really know what to look for – this is the course for you. This informal and friendly course will take you through the basics of digital photography and help you to gain confidence so that you can take pictures, store pictures and download pictures.
The course will be taught by Richard Jones, an experienced WEA tutor, and is due to start on Monday 19 September 2011 at the Park Road Resource Centre in Mansfield Woodhouse (53 Park Road, Mansfield Woodhouse, NOTTS NG19 8ER). The course will run from 1.30pm-3.30pm every Monday for 10 weeks.
If you are interested in joining this course go along to the first session to enrol. If you need more information, call Lindsey on 07919 528 109.

Carla can offer all sorts of craft-based taster sessions and longer courses on scrap-booking are planned for later in the year, but for me, this post is more about testing out my new flickr account and checking that I can at last add images to my posts. Yippee!

When the Park Road Resource Centre in Mansfield Woodhouse asked me if I could put on a creative writing course for them, I was sure I would be able to. Unfortunately the tutors were all booked up elsewhere and it looked like I would have to let the centre down. Or would I? A few years back I had put together a course all about how to write your own life story, so I decided to offer that to the centre instead.
I am pleased to say that the course ran successfully at the centre last term and everyone really enjoyed it – including me as the tutor. We looked at different styles of writing, tools for jogging memories and ways to plan and prepare for writing. The stories shared and lively discussions made for very enjoyable sessions, and I really hope I get a chance to run this course again some time soon. If you would like to find out more about it, give me a call on 07760 337 893 or send an email to
